Manuela is a Colombian visual artist. His artistic practice is born of a disorder, of not having the white canvas, of not having a frame, of pursuing the chaos, of searching in his photographic archive to deform it with pigments, of playing to disappear the image and create scenarios from others.
My creations seek a way out of my capricious mind, are personal and fleeting, and play with what I remember and forget. My brushes are my fingers, spatulas, sandpaper, pieces of cotton, sponges, a glass, and anything I find at hand. What I believe is in frequent transformation because I destroy, wet, dry, burn and do what I think the work requires.
My drawings and paintings are a constant dialogue of what I find along the way, I let my disorder create an image and I am not afraid to destroy to create.
